The new weight loss medication, Qsymia, is now
available. This is a brand item and is
currently only available through a few distribution channels. In addition to the high cost, this product
has significant restrictions and warnings.
Since Qsymia is a combination of Phentermine and Topamax, most bariatric
physicians are dispensing these two medications to their patients in the generic form.
The other new weight loss product, Belviq (lorcaserin
hcl), is still not available. The DEA is
recommending this drug be classified as a schedule IV controlled substance.
Lannett has discontinued manufacturing their Hydrochlorothiazide
25mg and 50mg tablets. We now carry
another manufacturer and are offering their product at a slightly lower
